JUNE SESSIONS

Drop off: 8:30 am

Pick up: 3:30 pm

Price: $400/week (snacks, materials, and transportation included)

Session 1: Mon 06/10 to Fri 06/14:

Ocean Beach Trash to Treasure Project : Plastic collection and classification in Ocean Beach. Designing, making and potentially selling art work made with collected trash and beach treasures for local environmental organizations. Intro to ocean fishing skills with visiting master fisherman teacher and sand castle competition.

Session 2: 06/17- 06/18:

Golden Gate Park Botany Book : The students will create their very own botany books with the most commonly found trees, flowers and plants of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. They will learn to identify and name specimens and press and dry flowers and leaves to create their books with their own samples and drawings. We will visit the rose garden, Botanical Garden and library, Dahlia garden, the Conservatory of Flowers and many other beautiful spots in our amazing park.

Session 3: 06/14- 06/21:

The students will create Spanish and English exhibit guides with the “must sees” of the main exhibits at the California Academy of Sciences. They will also create bonus video guides in Spanish and English of their favorite exhibits with their tips and recommendations.

Session 4: 06/24- 06/28:

Ocean fishing with visiting master fisherman teacher, intro to oceanography and marine biology, and sand castle competition.

AUGUST SESSION

Session 1A: 08/12- 08/17

Teatro en el Jardín de Shakespeare

Spanish Theater week. The students will plan, write, and produce their own play with our teachers guidance and visit local stores, theaters and museums for materials and inspiration. Performance on Friday at pick up in Shakespeare’s Garden.
